Here’s What You Should Know About Saibai

Genelia Deshmukh plays an important role in Riteish Deshmukh’s film Raja Shivaji. She appears as Saibai Bhonsale the first wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The film shows Shivaji’s journey from his childhood to becoming the ruler of the Maratha Empire highlighting his courage and legacy. It also focuses on the support he received from his family especially Saibai.

Saibai was Shivaji’s most trusted companion. Born into a royal family and she was known for her beauty, wisdom and strength.

She married Shivaji at a young age and stood by him during his fight for Swarajya. She even helped manage the kingdom in his absence.

Saibai passed away at just 26, soon after the birth of her son Sambhaji. Despite her short life she remains one of the most respected queens in Maratha history.
